Website hosting and ecommerce sites

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of exploring a couple on online business ideas, that will involve a payment gateway on a website. I'm very raw to this, and I'd really value advice from people that have had experiences with this.

I've been doing a fair amount of reading online, but still don't feel confident.

Hi Kristy,

Don't worry, as daunting as it may seem, once you get the hang of it this stuff isn't too scary at all.

Your main considerations are, what types of products you will be selling (e.g- physical or downloadable e-products), what features you need in your product, and the flexibility and affordability of hosting. There are some great options out there, lots of systems, software, and scripts that are free or really inexpensive. There's some really inexpensive yet high quality hosting options out there too.

Another thing to think about is what platform you will build your website on. Again there are some great products out there that can really lower cost.
